 | 10th Nov 2006 to 11th Nov 2006 | Pench Tiger Sanctuary, Madhya Pradesh
The inspiration of Rudyard Kipling's the Jungle Book, Pench is one of India's less famous Tiger Sanctuaries, but therein lies its beauty. Safaris are uncrowded, drives tend to be more leasurly and serene and your encounters with the king of beasts ... if you are so blessed ... are more personal. If you plan to do the Wildlife tour of India .... don't miss Pench

The 'Visarjan' or immersion of Ganpati is the culmination of Ganesh Chaturti, the festival in honour of Lord Ganesha the Elephant Headed God of Hindu Mythology. This 10 days festival of Light, noise and revelery marks the beginning of the festival season in India.

 | 29th Apr 2006 to 2nd May 2006 | Devbagh, Karnataka.
Just about 20 Km south of Goa where the river Kali meets the sea lies the little island of Devbag. This is where Tagore, way back in 1882, Inspired by its untouched beauty, ivory beaches, lush casurina groves & crystal waters wrote his first poem 'Prakritir Pratishoota' or Natures Revenge' Come Discover.

 | 31st Dec 2005 to 2nd Jan 2006 | The Log Cabin, Avalanche, Ooty
A three hour drive, through some of the worst terrain imaginable, in a a positively rattling four wheel drive of World War II vintage can sorely (no pun intented) test you. But for those who remain faithful to the quest there are great rewards to be reaped.
Nestled high in the misty mountians some 90 Kms climb from Ooty, just north of a little town called Avalanche lies the log cabin. Totally secluded from all of civilization this cozy wooden beauty is perched on the edge of a lush green hillock and is surrounded by mountians on one side and lakes on the others. Trust me ... this is the closest ul get to nirvana... on earth.

 | 16th May 2005 to 25th May 2005 | Malaysia (Langkawi, Sunway Lagoon, KL, Genting Highlands)
Well im not sure about the 'Truly Asia' part.. but Langkawi boasts of some stunningly pristine beaches with deep turquoise waters and soft white sands. KL with the communication towers and petronas has some great modern architecture to boast of. Plus the proximity to Singapore & Thailand make this an attractive destination.. perhaps that’s what they meant by Truly Asia!

 | 5th May 2005 to 7th May 2005 | Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh.
Dalhousie, perched at over 2000m above sea level & sprawling over five hills offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Range of the Himalayas. Not the kind of place that you go to find adventure, Dalhousie is more the scenic hillstation getaway. Interestingly Dalhousie was named after the then British Viceroy Lord Dalhousie, by David McLeod who also named McLeod Ganj after himself!
|
 | 2nd May 2005 to 5th May 2005 | McLeod Ganj, Himachal Pradesh
Situated about 10 km above Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj is the official seat of The Tibetan Government in exile, & the residence of the 14th Dalai Lama. Nestling at the foothills of the imposing Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas, about 1770m above sea level, this quaint little town is populated largely by Buddhist monks & western backpackers. Offering some breathtaking views, brilliant ambiance, awesome experiences, great food & fantastic trekking opportunities, this is the place to be after Manali in Himachal.

 | 11th Feb 2005 | Gokarna, Karnataka.
The After Party For The Party That Was Not To Be..
6 party crazy lunatics, 3 Days on the beach, sleeping in bags and tarpaulin sheets, no loos, bhurjji for breakfast, lunch and dinner and some of the weirdest people we ever met ... Kickass!!
On a slightly different note Gokarna as the name suggest is situated on the border of Goa and Karnataka, and besides boasting some of most breathtakingly beautiful beaches is also a religious site of some significance. History has it that the Atmalinga brought by Ravana got struck here and his efforts to extricate it resulted in his throwing the coverings of the Linga to Dhareshwar, Gunavanteshwara, Murdeshwar and Shejjeshwar temples. The Mahabaleshwara is one of the major temples here. The deity here is two-armed, standing, and atleast 1500 years' old.

 | 10th Nov 2004 to 12th Nov 2004 | Bandhavgarh National Park & Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh
If you had to visit only one Tiger Sanctuary in India, make that one Bandhavgarh. Bandhawgarh National Park belongs to the Vindhyan mountain ranges of central India and it boasts to have the highest density of tiger population in the country. This wild life park derived its very name from an ancient fort in the area. Once a hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa in more recent times, Bandhavgarh was declared a park in 1968.
|
 | 7th Nov 2004 to 9th Nov 2004 | Kanha National Park & Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh
The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book". The Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh came into being in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The Park's landmark achievement is the preservation of the rare hardground Swamp Deer (Barasingha), saving it from near extinction. Stringent conservation programs for the overall protection of the Park's fauna and flora, makes Kanha one of the most well maintained National Parks in Asia
